Russia’s special military operation is the only way to establish peace and prevent a large-scale war. This was announced on Sunday, February 27, by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
He recalled that the special peacekeeping operation has been going on for four days.
“We all understand that it is the only way to defend peace, stop the genocide of the Russian people, prevent a massacre and a full-scale war, ensure the security of our country in the future,” the speaker wrote in his Telegram channel.
Volodin also concluded that Russia was in favor of a peaceful settlement.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, which declared their independence from Kiev back in 2014. On February 24, Putin announced a special military operation in the Donbass. According to the head of state, this decision was made against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in Ukraine, which requires immediate action.
Political scientist Viktor Litovkin told VM that NATO would not take part in hostilities in Ukraine. The leadership of the member countries of the alliance, he believes, will limit themselves to only loud statements. According to him, NATO countries will continue to talk about Russian aggression and impose sanctions against our country. However, they will refuse direct intervention in Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, the specialist concluded.
