‘Rebel Governors’ now ‘Integrity Group’, insists Ayu must go!

The group which was believed to be working for former President.Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, now refers to itself as the “Integrity Group” says Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde.

Dr. Jonathan’s spokesman had in a statement, rebuffed the allegation, saying that the governors were merely acting on their own ‘integrity’ for the party,

Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Ondo, Ayo Fayose, former governor of Ekiti, Donald Duke, former governor of Cross River, Bode George, former deputy national chairman, and others, were also present at the meeting.

“You can see us, five serving governors, as the face of this struggle both the leaders and elders of the party that you see here are the people behind those faces.” Makinde revealed.

After the meeting, Jonah Jang, former governor of Plateau, told newsmen that the group’s has not shifted position on the removal of Iyorchia Ayu, national chairman of the party, but that the group is open to reconciliation.

Jang also said that “after a careful review of developments in our party, we have decided to stand on the decisions we took in our Port- Harcourt meeting,”
and “hereby reiterate that the window for reconciliation in our great party, PDP, remains open.”

The ‘Integrity Group’, have been against Ayu, the party’s national chairman and Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate’s emergence from the same region.
