The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 54-year-old man, Mr. Ojo Joseph for setting five of his step children on fire at Fagun crescent area of Ondo town in Ondo State.
The news monitored on Radio Nigeria reported that the man had a quarrel with his wife who ia also the mother of the children.
The man allegedly poured petrol into the children’s room while they were asleep and set the kids on fire leaving one of them burn to death.
The other four children are badly burnt and are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo while their mother and 18-month-old twins escaped from the inferno with minor injury.
The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmi Odunlami confirmed the ncident saying, the man has been apprehended for a case of alleged arson and murder.
