General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, a.k.a IBB, Nigeria’s former Military ruler, was awarded an Honourary Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) at his home in Minna Niger State, for his “exceptional contributions to the growth and development of the Institute” during its formative years.
The institute is celebrating its 30th-anniversary which kicked off on Friday, November 4, this year.
Babangida, Nigeria’s ruler from 1985 to 1993, promulgated the Decree granting CIS its ‘chartered’ status in 1992 and was instrumental in entrenching some radical economic policies that transformed the Nigerian financial system.
