– as Obaseki of the PDP, leads Ize-Iyamu of the APC with over 89 thousand votes in the13 LGAs announced

There were reported incidences of ballot box snatching and gunshots in some polling units in Ologbo, a border community in Ikpoba-Okha LGA, and ward 9 in Egor Local Government Area during the Saturday’s Governorship election in Edo state, according to media reports.

From figures available at the time of this report on https://www.inecelectionresults.com, incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki is ahead of his closet rival and candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Osagie Ize-Iyamu, with 89,412 votes in the state governorship election held on Saturday.

With the results of 13 local governments already announced, Obaseki, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate has 243,604 votes while Ize-Iyamu has 154,192. Both rivals won their wards.

The results of five local governments are still being awaited.
